Calligraphy of Proverbs 15:1

I did this today in a stolen hour. The Greek is my attempt at imitating the ligatures of the Grecs du Roi.

  1. this is fantastic. what are the two letters after the eta in lupe..s though?

    • That’s λυπηρος, luperos, grievous, harmful, harsh. One of the cooler ligatures in the Grecs du Roi.

The most difficult ligatures to decipher are in hypopiptousa, which has ου written vertically, and a very strange initial upsilon.

  2. Also, the ligature in apostrephei looks like it is missing the τ, as though the word were aposrephei. But it is the ligature for str.

  3. It’s lovely.

  4. I agree with Erin. Quite lovely.
