1 Thessalonians 2:13ff : Notes

Thursday of the first week in Advent: 1 Thessalonians 2:13-end.

15 – The Judaeans are “contrary to all men” — meaning that they are enemies of the human race, as can be seen from the fact that they do not want Gentiles to be saved.

16- “Wrath has come upon them to the uttermost” – surely a reference to the disaster of AD 70.

19 – Paul’s greatest happiness comes from seeing his converts walking in the Lord. This is what motivates and sustains him even in prison.
