Old friends

As we get closer to leaving, our schedule is filling up with visits to other churches. This is a good thing, because it will help us get to the mission field. On the other hand, it hurts because we love our own parish, and we won’t be there most Sundays.

That makes Wednesday evening prayer, with its accompanying cookout, all the more important. Our kids love it too, especially when they get to see their quondam (and nonnumquam) babysitter, Mrs. Shock.

Here are Isaiah and Hosanna waiting in line for food:

Today, we paid a visit to the Shock mansion, where the kids had a good time with Ofelia, the cat that used to live at our house before Talia moved away. It’s pretty clear that Naomi misses her, even if I do not:

Thanks, Mrs. Shock, for loving our kids all these years!
