Bruner’s _Matthew: the Christbook_

I’m preparing a sermon on the gospel reading for the 24th Sunday after Trinity, Matthew 9:18-26. It is a rich passage, and one I have taught on before. In a Facebook comment, I remarked that Frederick Dale Bruner’s Matthew: the Christbook was the best commentary I had seen on this gospel.

Little did I know what the reviews were like. Wow! What an impression Bruner has made. And from what I’ve read on just this passage, I think I agree with them.

  1. It’s almost heartbreaking to see that only the first volume of the two is available as a Kindle book. Why only one?
