Not Something to Say if You Like Your City

I don’t have much to say about this, but it was striking when we heard it in Morning Prayer a few weeks ago.

Then the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who entered your house, for they have come to search out all the land.” (Joshua 2:3 ESV)

Where have we heard that before?

  1. Presuming that you are thinking of Genesis 19 primarily, but Acts 17:5-9 is another illuminating parallel.
